This year’s annual SEALNet Send off Dinner in the East Coast was once again held in the Penthouse of Mccormick. We were grateful to be have Lucy Guo and Esther Lee to commute to our event from Harvard. We were also honored to have the alumni Gen Ho, Jon Lau, Duong Huynh, Mai Nguyen, and Tian Ong to join us in wishing the best of luck to those who are going on the project this coming summer: Lucy Guo (PP-Cebu’13), Phil Kamtue (PC’13), Carmela Lao (PP-Leyte’13), Hikaru Miyazaki (PP-Leyte’13), Marsha Wibowo (PV’13). We are proud for them to come this far, and we wish despite the challenges, they will have one of most memorable life experiences on the journey of executing their projects.
We feasted over a delicious meal. Instead of having regular Chinese food or Thai food, we had Vietnamese food catered from Le’s. The change was refreshing, and trying new dishes further added onto our joy and happiness.
There were seniors from SEALNet we appreciated and sent our good wishes to: Yihui Saw, Nicole Fong, Mengheng Touch, Esther Lee (Harvard), Angela Park, and Nhu Huynh. Each was given a beautiful rose with symbolic meaning behind the chosen color: purple for friendship & orange for celebration. Francis Plaza, Fareeha Safir, Lina Song, & Princess Carlos unfortunately could not make it to the event. Nevertheless, we still wish them the best of luck after graduation.
Everyone was wonderfully dressed this year. All the ladies looked beautiful, and the all the men looked handsome! It stirs bittersweet feeling to think that for next Sendoff dinner, the current seniors will now return to the same place as MIT alumni.
